Festive Family Destination Winter Funland Announces Relaxed Autism Friendly Session
Winter Funland, the largest indoor winter wonderland in the UK have announced a special sensory friendly session to benefit families with autistic children.
The UK’s largest ever undercover indoor family festive experience opens to the public on Friday December 7, running until January 1 2019 at EventCity, right next to Intu Trafford Centre. A special sensory friendly session will take place on Wednesday 12th December at 5pm.
Speaking about the sensory friendly session, Andy Winmill, Event Director at Winter Funland, said: “The multi-sensory aspects of Winter Funland that are such an attraction for most of our visitors can induce sensory overload for those with autism. We’ll be lowering the sensory input to a comfortable level. This will mean having fewer crowds around, lowering the volume of the event, reducing lighting and flickering lights, and providing a space to chill out if any aspect gets too overwhelming. Our team of Winter Funland staff and stewards who understand the needs of these visitors will be on hand to offer assistance too.”
Winter Funland offers families a never-before-seen line-up of rides, entertainment and seasonal magic, all under one roof. With a new 1000-seat auditorium, live shows from stars including CBBC’s Andy Day and his fantastic Odd Socks band, Frozen and the Winter Funland Circus, this is the perfect place to make memories and capture those magical moments.
Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without a visit from Santa Claus and his real reindeers, included as part of the Winter Funland package.
With one all-inclusive admission ticket and nothing extra to pay once inside, tickets will include all of the fun from live shows to skating the ice trail and wonderful rides. Children under three go free, too. To book the sensory friendly session visit www.winterfunland.com
