Here’s the perfect reason to wear a novelty hat this Christmas
Well it’s not quite Christmas until one has adorned a silly seasonal hat and here’s a great reason for you to wear sleigh bells on your barnet! Once again F&F will be teaming up with leading charities to help support people in need this Christmas.
For the third year running, F&F has joined forces with FareShare, a food distribution charity, and The Trussell Trust, a food bank charity. In Tesco stores across the country and online, customers can purchase a variety of fun Christmas hats designed for men, women and children. For every hat purchased, £1 will be donated to help families during the festive season and it’s hoped that up to £200,000 will be raised. Consequently, £600,000 will have been donated to these two charities since 2014.
Charlotte Reyland, Kids F&F Assistant Buyer at F&F says “This time of year can be a struggle for many people and we hope that the money raised will continue to make a real difference. We know that this is something that our customers and colleagues hold close to their hearts, and in the past they’ve shown incredible generosity. Hat with a Heart has been a brilliant opportunity to partner with two great charities in a fun and unique way”.
FareShare and The Trussell Trust are established charities tackling the cycle of poverty in the UK by providing food and support. At present there are over thirteen million people living below the poverty line in the UK; the Trussell Trust is an anti-poverty charity that runs a network of over 420 food banks in the UK, working with churches and communities to provide three days emergency food and support to people in crisis. FareShare is a UK-wide charity that tackles food waste and hunger. FareShare redistributes in-date, good food from the food & drink industry, that would otherwise go to waste, to frontline charities and community groups that support vulnerable people, including homeless shelters, children’s breakfast clubs, and domestic violence refuges.
Novelty hats have transcended into a fashion statement from novelty competitions, Christmas parties or just fun for the little ones; there is always an opportunity to sport a novelty hat and spread goodwill. So what are you waiting for? The hats are available in 600 Tesco stores across the UK with prices starting at £5. The range is available from now in store and online at www.tesco.com
