Oktopus announces new home on Hardman Street.

Following a series of pop-up teaser events which took place during February and March, experimental restaurant Oktopus has taken up residency with a new permanent site on Liverpool’s Hardman Street.

Launched by the team behind the city’s Black Lodge Brewery in the Baltic Triangle, the popular pop-up events gave diners the opportunity to experience Oktopus in advance of the main restaurant opening, which will take place on Friday 21 April, at Hardman Yard, adjacent to Buyers Club.

Seating up to 60 diners, with an open kitchen format, Oktopus will offer clean, simple and seasonal cooking with a focus on the highest quality vegetables and seafood.

Menus by Head Chef Christopher Ineson will change weekly and will dishes will be paired with own-brewed beers by Black Lodge Brewery. Ineson, formally Head Chef of Maray and The Clove Hitch, has recently worked with Mowgli founder Nisha Katona & Penguin Publishing on her upcoming cookbooks.

Speaking about the opening of the new restaurant, he commented:

“ The pop-ups have been the perfect way to introduce Oktopus to Liverpool, they’ve given us the chance to trial dishes and new ideas, to listen to feedback and where we felt was appropriate, to refine.

Customers coming to the new restaurant in Hardman Yard can expect to see a menu which is constantly changing and adapting, one that reflects the seasons, and uses local and sustainable ingredients when they are at the peak of their growing time.”

“We have a small but expert team of producers that we enjoy working with – real farmers, fishermen, butchers and bakers who we rely on to provide us with produce only when it’s at its very best – that way we maximise flavours, which is key with my style of cooking. “

The April launch menu includes Parisian Gnocchi with pink goats cheese, beet crisps and basil,Lamb belly with white anchovies, cumin soubise, fried parsnips and braised leeks, plus cured Sea Trout with smacked cucumbers, buttermilk labneh.
