Orb Events Announce The New Brighton Seaside Festival for May Bank Holiday
ParentFolk are excited to hear that a new family friendly festival, The New Brighton Seaside Festival, has been announced for The Wirral.
New Brighton is located on the north eastern tip of the Wirral Peninsula on the bay of Liverpool, where the River Mersey meets the Irish Sea.
New Brighton was born in 1826 and by the turn of the century was a bustling seaside resort with hotels, bathing pools, a pier, the promenade, a tower, a ballroom, as well as many other attractions and amenities. New Brighton is fondly remembered by people of all generations who visited the area either as a child or with their own children, many coming from other parts of the United Kingdom and further afield.
The festival organisers now plan to recapture the halcyon feeling of family days out at the heart of The Wirral.
Inspired by past successes such as ‘Farm Feast’ and the award-winning ‘Liverpool Loves’, organisers Orb Events have created a brand-new concept for the area by honouring their mission to capture the traditional and classic charm of New Brighton – whilst offering an invigorating and fresh programme of entertainment and activities for the whole area to get involved in!
The area boasts a unique mix of old and new with 19th century Grade II* listed sea defences, Fort Perch Rock and the famous Lighthouse -together with a brand-new £80million leisure and retail centre, Marine Point; stunning coastlines and spectacular vistas… But it doesn’t stop there! A short stroll inland sees a dynamic selection of independent bars, cafes, shops and restaurants on Victoria Road, Victoria Parade and Seabank Road with award-winning businesses and attractions.
From buoyant Sea Shanty choruses to quality local bands and artistes, there’s set to be plenty of musical entertainment for all tastes taking place throughout the weekend. And a programme of have-a-go activities and children’s entertainment will be sure to transport the little ones to a coastal utopia – with a spring in their step and a seashell or two in their pocket!
But what’s a festival without food and drink? Giving a nod to the new growing season, the lineup of seaside eats will showcase a whole host of springtime fayre through themed-menu’s. The very best local producers and regional Street Food heroes will be on hand to keep your whole family fuelled! Visitors can also expect local craft beers, cocktails and a whole lot more…
