Professional Women Seek Solace At City Health Spa
Study’s show working women have on average five hours less a week than men
Liverpool’s thriving body of female professionals are now using a city lifestyle boutique to answer new time pressures.
New studies have shown the hectic pressures facing professional females and mothers today means they end up with a mere 17 minutes to themselves each day.
Female only lifestyle boutique Nourish, in Hatton Garden, have answered calls for new ways to work out, relax and revitalise, and this week announced their sponsorship of Liverpool Ladies Network (LLN) for professional women working within Liverpool.
Grace McGinnis founder of Nourish, an entrepreneur and a mother-of-one said: “When time gets tight the first thing women remove is ‘me-time’, we tend to see this as more of a luxury than a necessity and end up eliminating it completely and at Nourish we want to be the remedy to this.”
Working women in the city said to now be using 6-8am as their ‘gym-hour’ which was typically 5-7pm as working hours and pressures increase. Recent studies have also shown that working women not only have five hours less a week than men, but working women with children in the household have just three hours less a week.
“It seemed natural to us to get behind the Liverpool Ladies Network,” Grace added, “as these are the women truly at the heart of what makes Liverpool a great place to do business, so their lifestyles are filled to the brim in every possible way. But we also know that ‘me-time’ for these inspiring ladies, still needs to happen and we want to support that.”
LLN is a not-for-profit organisation that provides an inclusive environment for like-minded women to build relationships and develop new business within Merseyside. Ran by a voluntary committee of local female professionals, they inspire members to join the vibrant business community.
Lindsey Moore, chair of the LLN, said: “We are delighted that Nourish are the official sponsor or LLN. Being based in the city centre Nourish is conveniently located to provide our members with some ‘time out’ to look after themselves, exercise, get their hair and beauty treatments done or simply relax in luxury.”
