Ice Cream Farm

Who Says Ice Cream’s Only For Summer?

The Ice Cream Farm, home to the world’s largest ice cream shop, had a record December and January with nearly 30,000 scoops of ice cream sold in their Cheshire based parlour.

With the damp and dreary weather over the last couple of months, you’d think that ice cream would be the last thing on our minds, but it seems that everyone wants a little scoop of summer, even in the winter months. Cheshire based, The Ice Cream Farm experienced a record December with Chocolate and Double Chocolate ice cream dominating the two most popular flavours and Strawberries & Cream coming in a close third place.

However, it wasn’t just the classics that proved popular in December, The Ice Cream Farm’s much-anticipated Christmas flavours were once again a huge hit. Chocolate Orange pipped Christmas Pudding to the festive top spot, with customers even asking whether the flavour could have permanent residence in The Parlour.

Director, Jonathan Fell said; “People always ask me whether ice cream is still such a hit in the winter months and as these figures show, the answer is yes! It’s always interesting seeing which flavours are most popular in each month- Bubblegum had been in the top three since launch in July 2015 but interestingly, this winter has seen people revert back to the classics, such as Chocolate, Strawberry and Vanilla. We’re always looking to add new and innovate flavours to our list, so keep your eyes peeled this year!”

Non-dairy ice cream also seems to be on the rise as people become more aware of their intolerances. With a choice of chocolate, vanilla and strawberry flavoured non-dairy ice cream, customers no longer have to miss out on their favourite chilled snack just because of an allergy.

However, there is no denying that ice cream sales soar in the summer months, with a whopping 118,471 scoops sold in August 2016 alone…  Now, who’s for ice cream?
