Win a family pass to Geronimo Festival, Cheshire.
Now in its fourth year, the northern Geronimo festival will take place during the Bank Holiday Weekend: 28th – 28th May at Arley Hall Estate in Cheshire. This year they’ve also announced a new southern event; Geronimo Festival at Knebworth House Estate in beautiful Hertfordshire on the 30th June and 1st July 2018.
The Geronimo festivals are unlike any other family event in Britain and offer something for both seasoned and newbie festival-goers. What sets Geronimo apart from other festivals is not only the unrivalled value for money the event offers families of all sizes, but also the sheer number of unique attractions to enjoy. The ticket price includes entry as well as all activities and attractions within the venue (with the exception of the Victorian Fun Fair).
The brainchild of father of seven, Simon Goldman, Geronimo aims to bring everything you ever look for in a fun family day out in one massive venue. Simon says:
‘As a large family, we were always on the lookout for festivals and days out to keep every one of our children entertained. With varying ages, it was difficult to find somewhere that offered just that and a couple were always bored while often the younger ones just had to be wheeled around in their buggy. My wife and I decided to take all the elements we had enjoyed from our best family excursions and bring them all together and so Geronimo was born. We pride ourselves therefore on not only providing the best family festival in the UK, but also the most cost-effective for families travelling to us. There are no hidden extras and what you see is what you get.’
Geronimo North takes place in the magnificent grounds of the Arley Hall Estate set in beautiful Cheshire countryside, whilst Geronimo South will be held at the iconic Knebworth House Estate in Hertfordshire, both venues have easy access from all major routes across Britain. The festival is about kicking back, relaxing and enjoying the simple things in life with the people who are most important to you.
There are many different areas across the sites all with something for every member of the family to enjoy – whatever their age. From the top pasture with its interactive area where children can get up close and personal with their favourite animals, to the Showground Arena, a hive of entertainment throughout the event with timetabled events including jousting tournaments, motorcycle stunt displays, fire shows and more.
Without doubt one of the most popular zones of Geronimo Festival is the Main Stage. 2018 will see some of children’s TV royalty take to the stage to entertain the masses and headlining on the Saturday is the one and only Justin Fletcher. Supremely popular with little ones and their parents, Justin will take to the stage in the afternoon to ensure that more families than ever get the chance to enjoy the show.
On Sunday, Mr Bloom will headline the Geronimo Main Stage introducing his brand new 40-minute show which includes his very own band. Throughout the whole show, many famous and much-loved faces from children’s entertainment will keep families involved in all the action the festival has to offer. Meet the team from Swashbuckle, Andy Day and the Odd Socks, Alex Winter and Katy Ashworth.
Parents often worry that the youngest members of the family will be left out but not at Geronimo. The Three Foot & Under area has so much to engage little ones, they will be spoilt for choice. Choose to partake in Baby Yoga, Tumble Tots, Moo Music, Baby Sensory classes, Storytelling, Strider bikes and much more. This section also features a Quiet Zone which is made available for families of children with special needs.
There’s exciting family challenges in the Adrenaline Zone, artisan workshops and traditional crafts in the whimsical Spinney Hollow, and a vast array of entertainment in the Circus Zone where you can learn circus skills with a trapeze school and acrobatics classes.
No festival would be complete without music and there is a huge, eclectic mix of music available. From African Drumming to Cardboard Harp classes, this is an area not to be missed. You can also enjoy the Baby Rave with your little ones and dance the festival away at the retro Silent Disco and this year they’ll be joined by Big Fish, Little Fish too!
As this year’s Geronimo Festival is the biggest yet, camping and glamping will be available as last year, so that families can take advantage of everything the festival has to offer while making it a mini family vacation. Take along your own tent, caravan or motorhome or really get into the festival vibe and hire a bespoke glamping tent.
For the first time, the organisers are also offering “Bathing Under the Sky” a dedicated spa zone for parents, with a professionally staffed crèche on hand so that you can relax and enjoy a bit of pamper-time without worrying about the kids.
Geronimo Chief Simon adds: ‘Geronimo has become a real destination for families looking to spend quality time together while being entertained and discovering fun new activities. When we see the smiling faces of our ‘Geronomites’ bidding us farewell, we sit around the campfire and start to plan next year’s festival. It always begins with…’How will we ever top that?’
Geronimo offers a tiered booking system which means that the first bookers get the best prices and early bird offers. The cost of most of the activities is included within the price of your ticket.
